AULA 1 (25/08) - Teoria dos Movimentos Sociais
O estudo dos movimentos sociais adquiriu destaque a partir dos anos 70, seguindo três principais linhas de abordagem, pautadas empiricamente na análise dos atores, das associações e dos eventos de protesto – sendo elas, respectivamente, a Teoria dos Novos Movimentos Sociais, de Touraine, Melucci e Castells; a Teoria da Mobilização de Recursos e Teoria da Sociedade Civil, de Zald e McCarthy/Cohen e Arato e, por fim, a Teoria do Confronto Político, de Charles Tilly e Sidney Tarrow. Estudaremos nesta aula estas principais linhas de análise dos movimentos sociais e seus desdobramentos.

AULA 2 (26/08) - Análise de Eventos de Protesto (AEP)
A Análise de Eventos de Protesto (AEP) se popularizou nos estudos da ação coletiva e dos movimentos sociais nos anos 1980. Uma das contribuições centrais dessa linhagem metodológica é acentuar o caráter relacional e interacional da ação coletiva, analisando os movimentos sociais para além de suas relações internas, mas nas suas relações com outros movimentos sociais contemporâneos, aliados, opositores e o Estado. Esta aula abordará quando e porquê devemos usar a AEP e quais são os critérios em jogo para a classificação de um evento de protesto, bem como os desafios e limites da AEP como método de pesquisa.
