El objetivo es, en primer lugar, explicar cómo diferentes corrientes intelectuales abordan la cuestión de la vida dentro del campo de la antropología: la etnología de las sociedades amerindias, los estudios sobre ciencia y tecnología (STS, por sus siglas en inglés), la antropología de la biopolítica y de la vida cotidiana, y la antropología de la naturaleza y la ecología.
Posteriormente, a partir del libro Ce que les humains font avec la vie (Lo que los humanos hacen con la vida), el propósito es proponer un modelo comparativo —una “pragmática general de la vida”— capaz de contrastar las diversas concepciones de la vida elaboradas por las sociedades humanas y fomentar un diálogo entre los diferentes enfoques que conforman la antropología de la vida.
11 de agosto – Etnología de las sociedades amerindias
Basándose en su trabajo de campo etnográfico en Mesoamérica, P. Pitrou presentará propuestas comparativas orientadas al estudio de las concepciones de la vida en sociedades amazónicas y andinas.
12 de agosto – Estudios sobre ciencia y tecnología (STS)
Esta sesión revisará los principales aportes teóricos del campo STS con el fin de comprender mejor cómo las investigaciones contemporáneas en ciencias de la vida y biotecnologías contribuyen a redefinir la vida y la frontera entre lo vivo y lo no vivo.
13 de agosto – Antropología de la naturaleza y la ecología
Ante el creciente interés por una “antropología más allá de lo humano” o una “antropología más-que-humana”, se vuelve fundamental clarificar las bases metodológicas sobre las cuales desarrollar investigaciones etnográficas en torno a las relaciones con seres vivos no humanos y los entornos donde la vida se despliega.
14 de agosto – Antropología de la biopolítica y de la vida cotidiana
Las investigaciones sobre situaciones en las que la vida humana se ve amenazada (como la guerra o los desastres) constituyen una dimensión clave de la antropología de la vida. A través de los conceptos de “formas de vida” y “la desigualdad de las vidas humanas”, se obtienen herramientas para comprender tanto la fragilidad de la existencia humana como la inestabilidad del orden social."
